St. James United Church on St. Catherines Street West was built in 1889 and was the fourth home of the St. James congregation. The outside architecture is reminiscent of the French Gothic cathedral and the interior contains a small chapel, stained glass windows and an organ, in addition to the main part of the church, where a majority of events take place.
